Yeah, so I just got these guys for the trip, and some other stuff in the mail today. What a way to come home -- with new gear in the mailbox, that is.
These FieldSheer Four Season Mesh Pants look pretty good -- great nylon, big mesh panels, perfect fit (repeat -- mail order & perfect fit!), The knee armor is really good too. They feel good, and the pads seat properly around the knees. I think there might be pants that I would actually wear daily on the tour -- with nice, all-cotton tan army pants under.
Whoa! Scratch that. On impulse, I just tried these as pants instead of overpants. Wow. With underwear only, these dudes are perfect. Now I am psyched! Talk about breezy, oh man, I might start wearing these around town and for gardening.
Also got some great mesh and perf leather gloves. Again, best fit of any glove I've owned. I'm totally lucking out here. Also got a set of waterproof over-gloves, Fieldsheer. Kind of a deal really, they were $10 and they fold up into a little bag the size of a wrist band. We'll see how they hold up -- although they look AOK.
I'll say this again -- I can't believe I have riding pants that I might actually wear. Sea change. Fantastic.
