Bye Bye Interceptor, Hello Connie!

Yeah, so after a couple of missteps, I am bike positive for moto3our. Picked up a 2001 Kawasaki Concours 1000 GTR from the peeps at Ram Cycles in Rockville, MD. Check out the listing.

This morning I was dismayed to lose a 1993 Connie priced at $2,300 to another buyer, (despite my 50-mile dash to Port Jervis with an envelope of cash, desperate to beat the usurping buyer from Mass. -- no dice). I rode home bummed and angry, accepting that it wasn't to be.

By 3:00 pm I had found -- and purchased -- a 2001 Kawasaki Concours 1000 GTR with 15K miles on it, all totally serviced and ready to ride for $3,100 (pictured). Its a totally updated bike and is much, much better looking too. When I was pissed off and riding home this morning with no bike and no prospects, I knew there was a better bike out there for me. And I am psyched that I found it.

Oh, and goodbye to the Interceptor. I listed her on Craig's this afternoon. She sure was a swell motorcycle. I will miss her no matter what. This little dude really gave it 'er all last year on moto2our. Bye, bye, old friend.

  1. First of all, that's a sick price. I've always thought those bikes were a great blend of LD tourer with just enough sporty thrown in. It looks great, and to pay that for a bike with miles that low and BRAND NEW TIRES is awesome. But what the eff is a "foot peg tool kit"?

It looks terrific. Lose the bra in the name of women's liberation, otherwise ride that mother like you stole it. Which, by the way, you sort of did.

PS - Thanks for the nice words. Still processing and VERY sore. But I got x-rayed yesterday and my ass is apparently not broken, nor is my neck.
